Resolving sync conflicts
When you sync your contacts, there is a possibility that some conflicts occur between the information that is in your device, Nokia Ovi Suite, your Nokia account, and your data management software (such as Microsoft Outlook). This could happen, for example, when you have modified a contact’s mobile number in your device and Nokia Ovi Suite.
ABOUT SYNC CONFLICT RESOLUTION
When there are conflicts during syncing, Nokia Ovi Suite gathers all the contacts that have one or more conflicts in a Sync conflicts smart group in the navigation area.
This smart group is visible only when there are sync conflicts. A smart group cannot be renamed, edited, or deleted.
To resolve contacts’ sync conflicts, do the following:
Click Sync conflicts in the navigation area and select a contact the conflicts of which you want to resolve. The contact details are shown in the content area.
Only those contact details that are in conflict are visible, along with the contact’s name.
Select the correct alternative for the conflicted detail or details, and click Save. Alternatively, you can ignore the conflict by selecting another contact or contact group, and resolve the conflict later.
Your contacts are synced automatically after you have resolved the last conflict in the Sync conflicts smart group.
